Peter on the Otso: It's built better

A few weeks ago, we told you about the Otso line of bikes we are now carrying.

These were Tuesday's initial impressions after racing an Otso.

As they've been coming in, we are even more impressed the quality and attention to detail of these bikes.

Peter has had time to really get to know the bike from the ground up as we've built them for customers. Building bikes you get a feel for the quality of the machine, from the paint to the manufacturing.

Here's what Peter had to say:

"One thing that I thought was really impressive to me was just the build quality. Throughout supply chain challenges during the pandemic, the level of fit and finish, across multiple companies, I've seen that fall.

"We see that reflected in things like disc brakes that are really difficult to get to quit rubbing. Carbon fiber that's hairy on  the inside. These Otso bikes you get acquainted with them pretty closely,  because when you're building one you're  literally building it from the frame up.  It comes as a frame and a box full of parts. So everything on these is put together almost from scratch.  And so I've just been really impressed with  the the workmanship that goes into them.

"For example,  the flat-mount rear disc brake. You put the brake in the center and you  tighten the bolts and it stays there. It doesn't squirm. From that perspective, very impressed with the company and the product they're putting on the floor.

"The paint quality, it's deep really good clear coat. You can kind of tell by looking at a  bike and what the paint looks like and that's going to lend itself  to durability down the line.  Good paint is harder,  it scratches less easily,  it cleans up more easily. It protects what's underneath it better."

Thanks to Peter for the insight.

  2. Great!! I want to tell those who don't know what is Otso line of bikes, so it's a Finnish mythological bear spirit, and the bikes made by the brand reflect that toughness. The Otso range offers bikes that can be used in snow, dirt, gravel and best hybrid bike.
